On the evening of March 30, the tractor unit of a semitrailer burst into flames on the Inntalautobahn. The fire was extinguished and the road had to be closed.
According to initial information, around 7.10 p.m. on March 30th, a semi-trailer truck loaded with bananas caught fire on the Inntalautobahn in the Anger municipality. The driver was heading towards Innsbruck when he noticed the heavy smoke development. He was able to get the vehicle onto the hard shoulder in time – he also managed to get out of the semitrailer in time. Only a short time later, the tractor unit was fully engulfed in fire. The Kufstein fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire using heavy respiratory protection. They were also supported by the fire brigades from Oberlangkampfen, Unterlangkampfen and Niederhöhenbach. During the rescue and clean-up work, the A12 had to be completely closed in the direction of Innsbruck.
