A woman, believed to be in her 70s, was taken to hospital with serious facial and head injuries, it said.
Elderly lady falls in the stands
The elderly woman had previously fallen and was immediately treated by paramedics at the Allianz Stadium. A spokesman for the emergency services confirmed in a statement that the woman was later taken to a clinic in a “critical condition.” According to the report, she was put into an induced coma there.
The accident probably occurred when the woman tried to climb over chairs in the stands instead of using the stairs. The incident happened at the end of the concert. The arena operator, Venues NSW, also confirmed the accident and also spoke of a “serious incident”. It was a “terribly sad incident”. The visitor was immediately looked after by staff and a guest who was medically qualified before the paramedics took over.
