Robert Pattinson: He even lied to Christopher Nolan for the "Batman" role

A rogue, this Robert Pattinson. Director Christopher Nolan felt that on the set of "Tenet" in the form of a bold lie.

Actor Robert Pattinson (34, "The Lighthouse") is a very popular man these days. Even so asked that on the set of Christopher Nolan's (50) upcoming blockbuster "Tenet" (theatrical release: August 26, 2020) he let himself be carried away into a rather bold lie, as the star now confessed in an interview with "The Irish Times" Has. In order to participate in the casting for the new role of the Dark Knight aka Batman, he pretended to be "a family emergency" in order to steal from the set.

But Pattinson apparently did the math without the master of secrecy, i.e. the twist-tried Nolan: "The moment I said that there was' a family emergency 'he just said:' You go to the Batman Audition, right? '"Pattinson recalls the lie that was blown. Despite this rumor, the director does not seem to have been offended by the co-star of his new film with John David Washington (36) in the lead role.

Maybe because Nolan himself knows only too well the attraction of the Gotham bat man. After all, with the "Dark Knight" trilogy he personally brought out three acclaimed films about the dark DC hero, portrayed by Oscar winner Christian Bale (46). Filmmaker Matt Reeves (54, "Planet of the Apes: Survival") is responsible for the new edition of Batman, in which Pattinson was finally able to get hold of the title role despite adverse circumstances. "The Batman" is expected to hit German cinemas on September 30, 2021.
