Rogue Company offers to watch in-game ads for rewards – Rogue Company

For now, video games, whether on PC or consoles, are spared from ads, although some games, notably the NBA 2K franchise, introduced them for a time, leading to community rumble. However, this could very well change over the next few years, with the introduction of ads. Moreover, Hi-Rez, the studio in charge of the development of Rogue Company, has just launched a new featurealongside the release of the Year 2 Update on February 8.

Called Simulmedia, this is a completely optional feature, but adds in-game ads. If the player activates it, he will be able to view ads and will obtain rewards in return. Hi-Rez explains that each ad viewed will earn, in any case, 75 Reputation points, which can make it interesting. These ads are advertisements similar to those found on television or on streaming platforms “.

The developers also specify that this will in no way impact those who do not want to see in-game ads. No one will be forced to view ads in Rogue Company.

Although the functionality may seem abusive, it can be a good alternative for free-to-play players to earn money, while pleasing the community, which collects some bonuses. How players react to this remains to be seen.

Rogue Company is, as a reminder, available free-to-play on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
