The Roku players do not have classic parental controls – but you can block app purchases and certain streaming channels with a PIN. Netzwelt explains how it works.
If you want to restrict the use of your Roku player because the remote control occasionally falls into the hands of children, you have to make a few settings. Despite the otherwise user-friendly Roku software, this is unfortunately not possible via the user interface of the devices themselves.
Netzwelt explains step by step how you can activate a security PIN to restrict paid app offers, content and certain channels.
You can also specifically block adult content in streaming apps such as Netflix, Disney+ and WOW in the respective apps by creating password-protected profiles (Disney+) or assigning a general youth protection PIN (WOW). Netflix also offers the restriction of adult content in its settings.
