Like Harmony Tan and Carole Monnet, Clara Burel left Roland-Garros in the first round. She was swept away by the world number 4, the Greek Maria Sakkari, in two small sets (6-2,6-3). Kristina Mladenovic, fourth and last French engaged this Sunday, is the ultimate Tricolore hope of the day among women.

5:35 p.m .: Let’s go for Clara Burel against Maria Sakkari
The French tackles a mountain for this first round at Roland-Garros. Maria Sakkari, 4th in the WTA rankings, is one of the favorites of the tournament. Clara Burel would be well advised to imitate Magda Linette or Kaia Kanepi, who released Ons Jabeur and Garbine Muguruza respectively earlier today, rather than the other Tricolores. Harmony Tan and Carole Monnet are already eliminated.

The 24th player in the world made a perfect entry into the tournament by dismissing the American Bernarda Pera (122nd in the world) in two small sets (6-2, 6-1).
3:44 p.m .: Muguruza comes out in turn!

Thunderbolt in the female table. Ons Jabeur, who was nevertheless among the favorites, came out of the start, unable to counter the aggressiveness of the Polish Magda Linette, 56th in the world. The French Harmony Tan, 112th in the world, leaves in the first round of Roland-Garros, beaten in two sets (6-4, 6.3) by the Colombian Maria Camila Osorio Serrano.
12:19 p.m .: Cirstea wins in trembling in this first round
27th in the world, the Romanian Sorana Cirstea entered her tournament perfectly and won in two sets (6-3, 6-3) against the German Tatjana Maria (107th). She is the first qualified for the second round of the Open de France.

Thanks to three breaks – despite a break – in the first set, the Tunisian Ons Jabeur won the first round without flinching (6-3) against the Polish Magda Linette. The latter was also strapped on the upper right thigh before the start of the second set.
11:41 a.m .: The French women not spoiled by the draw
The 2022 edition of Roland-Garros will see three French women start their tournament against three of the top four players in the world. This is the risk when you are not seeded, of course. But Fiona Ferro, opposed to world number 4 Paula Badosa, and Clara Burel, facing number 3 Maria Sakkari, could have passed between the drops.
For Diane Parry, the case is slightly different. If facing the world number 2 and defending champion is never a gift, the Parisian should still have her chances, Barbora Krejcikova having not appeared in competition since… the month of February. Another injured on the return, Caroline Garcia will be better off against the American Taylor Townsend, 334th player in the world.
