Pop stars like Roland Kaiser, Wolfgang Petry and Andrea Berg are gifting their fans with their Christmas albums this year. An overview.

The Christmas season is getting closer and closer and with it the musical contributions to this year’s contemplative time are increasing. Some pop stars give their fans Christmas albums that contain both classics and new interpretations.

Roland Kaiser

Roland Kaiser’s (71) Christmas album “Golden Christmas Time” is available from November 10th. With the record he wants to thank his fans for the “unbroken loyalty,” as it says in a press release. In 2021, the pop singer released the album “Christmas Time”, which has now been expanded to include five exclusive bonus tracks. Once again Kaiser has interpreted the most beautiful German and international Christmas songs. These include classics, but also Christmas pop or swing numbers. Kaiser got support from friends for the bonus tracks. The musician has already released contemplative records: the albums “Contemplative Christmas” and “Happy Christmas with Roland Kaiser” were released in 2009 and 2013.

Wolfgang Petry

Wolfgang Petry’s (72) “Always when it snows” has been on the shelves since November 3rd. “It’s been 23 years since the release of my last Christmas record with my own songs; I thought it was time to record a new Christmas album,” explained the singer about the new work. The title song is about Petry’s memories of the past Christmas and how this special time has lost none of its magic for him to this day. Fans can also look forward to “Snowflake, Little White Skirt”, “Merry Christmas” or “St. Nicholas is here”. “Since I’ve already recorded so many Christmas songs, I had to browse a lot to find new songs. I then equipped them with the ‘Wolle Sound’,” he reported in an interview with spot on news and added: “It But there are also a few new compositions.” His favorite song is “That Must Be Love”.

Bernhard Brink

After around 30 years, Bernhard Brink (71) is releasing the second Christmas album of his career with “Merry Christmas with Bernhard Brink” (release on November 24th). The 13 titles include new interpretations of Chris Rea’s global hit “Driving Home For Christmas” as “I’m driving home for Christmas”, the Spanish Christmas greeting “Feliz Navidad”, the Wham! classic “Last Christmas” ) or the Cohen classic “Hallelujah”.

Andrea Berg

Andrea Berg (57) will release her new album “Christmas” on November 17th. The motto of the work: “Modern and traditional at the same time”. Self-written songs as well as Christmas classics can be heard on the album, including the songs “Dezembertraum”, “Christmas”, “Küss mich unterm Mistletoe” as well as “Schneeflöckchen, Weißröckchen”, “Feliz Navidad” and “Silent Night”. In addition to the Christmas album, which is also available as a hardcover book with the singer’s Christmas recipes, Berg has already announced new performances to her fans this year that are still a little distant: in 2025 she will go on another big arena tour through Germany, Austria and the Switzerland. It starts on February 1st, 2025 in Wetzlar. Under the motto “See you!” The crowd favorite will pitch its tents in a total of 21 cities and fill the big arenas there.

Tanya Lasch

Tanja Lasch’s (48) “Merry Christmas” has also been in stores since October 27th. It is the pop singer’s first Christmas album. “It has always been my wish to make my fans and the people who like my music happy with an album like this,” she explains in a statement. “I’m happy to be able to show off my quieter tones for once and the people who like my voice can now be intoxicated by it at Christmas time too.” Lasch’s twelve favorite Christmas classics are collected in the work. These include “The Snow Is Quietly Falling”, “Oh Christmas Tree”, “Silent Night” and “Winterwonderland (White Winter Forest)”.

Udo Jürgens

From November 10th, the new album by the late musician legend Udo Jürgens (1934-2014) “The Most Beautiful Songs at Christmas” will be on store shelves. This is what fans can expect in this new compilation by the singer, who died shortly before Christmas Eve in 2014 at the age of 80: The edition contains a total of 55 recordings on three CDs, each grouped together thematically. The first CD contains 14 original compositions by Udo Jürgens under the title “Christmas at Home”. The second CD “Christmas all over the world” takes the listener musically to more distant realms. The third CD rounds off the collection under the heading “Time of Songs, Time of Silence”. The aim is to pass on the Christian message of peace, love and confidence.
