RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 bought by Atari – Gamosaurus

Released in November 2004 by Frontier Developments, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 has just been bought by Atari. An agreement that comes at the right time since it arrives as Atari celebrates the 25th anniversary of the license with Chris Sawyer.

“As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Rollercoaster Tycoon with Chris Sawyer, I am very happy that we can bring together this important and successful title in the series with the rest of the franchise. This will create new opportunities for Atari as we continue the great work done by Frontier, and bring benefits to fans of the franchise’s games Rollercoaster Tycoon. »

Wade Rosen – President and CEO of Atari

To bring together RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 with the rest of the license, Atari had to pay almost 4 million dollars. A sum to which an additional 3 million could be added depending on award conditions which have not been communicated.

Atari also seems not to want to stop there and plans to develop new titles for the license in collaboration with Chris Sawyer. The firm also seems to want to explore the derivatives market more fully in the development of
RollerCoaster Tycoon.
