The saving 8th place held by St. Gallen is already seven points away. Borenovic is the fourth Super League coach to be sacked during the season, after Abel Braga (Lugano), Marco Walker (Sion) and Fabio Celestini (Lucerne).

According to the club, they want to announce their successor very soon. For his part, Borenovic didn’t have it easy as the successor to Giorgio Contini, because the squad emerged from last summer’s transfer period significantly weakened.
