Former world number 1 Naomi Osaka confirms her good form at the Masters 1000 in Rome. The Japanese qualified this Thursday for the third round of the Italian tournament by eliminating the Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, 20th in the WTA rankings. A success validated in two sets: 6-3, 6-2. Osaka will face Daria Kasatkina in the next round. In the other matches of the day, Iga Swiatek confirmed her status as soon as she entered the fray by leaving only two games to Bernarda Pera. At 37, Sara Errani continued her good start to the season by beating Amanda Anisimova (2-1). The only Frenchwoman in the running today, Varvara Gracheva eliminated the local Federica Di Sarra in two sets.
