A good six months have passed since the death of Olympic winner Rosi Mittermaier, but the missing never stops. Daughter Ameli Neureuther now clarifies this with a joint photo.

On January 4th, 2023, winter sports legend Rosi Mittermaier at the age of 72 “passed away peacefully with her family after a serious illness”. This was announced by husband Christian, 74, son Felix, 39, and daughter Ameli Neureuther, 42, in a joint statement. The Neureuthers have made it clear how much the former ski racer misses her loved ones several times with public statements such as a heartbreaking obituary. Daughter Amelie’s moving Instagram post shows how difficult this first year of looking back is – with a photo that was taken a few months before Rosi’s death.

Rosi Mittermaier has already passed away for a good six months. Six months of grief, processing and memories of a loved one. On June 19, 2022, it was a warm early summer day, the sky was bright blue, Rosi and her daughter were hiking in the mountains. Both protected themselves from the blazing sun with a straw hat, Mittermaier supported himself on a walking stick.

Exactly one year later to the day, Ameli Neureuther published this recording of the mother-daughter team on her Instagram account. The memory is likely to give the 42-year-old a little stab in the heart, she writes: “This day was exactly a year ago today and I miss you every single day.”

Followers react with emotion: “It’s a shame that there are no visiting hours in heaven”

It’s hard to find words for such sadness, but a user manages to do it. She comments: “Too bad there are no visiting hours in heaven, you can just let them live on in your heart and in your memories.”

Just a few days after the death of her mother and grandmother of her son, who was born in 2015, Amelie Rosi dedicated touching lines to social media and also picked up the sky motif. For a black-and-white portrait that showed the successful ski racer, who was affectionately called “Gold-Rosi”, at a young age at the helm of a ship, she wrote: “The sky shines”. How fitting.
