A small trend is starting to gain momentum in the stick vacuum cleaner market, or the knife format vacuum cleaner, term used by our interlocutor at Rowenta to designate the X-Nano. The main advantage of this architecture already encountered on the Dyson Omni-Glide is of course maneuverability. Thanks to the long handle, the user no longer needs to break his wrist to clean, even if stick vacuums that use a handle in the format “gun” (always a Rowentesque term) are not complicated to pass.
The Rowenta X-Nano is more agile, but also more compact than a classic stick vacuum cleaner. Therefore, the waste container turns out to be a bit small, only 0.4 l. Good point – and this is a novelty at Rowenta -, you can empty the latter without putting your hands in the dust thanks to a button which releases the articulated bottom of the collector. Obviously, this reduced size of broom vacuum cleaner goes hand in hand with a weight also reduced. The X-Nano does not exceed one kilogram, which makes it effortless to handle. It nevertheless has a cyclonic filtration system to separate air from dust, as well as a foam filter. The HEPA filter, on the other hand, is not included.
The li-ion battery of the X-Nano is located in the handle and, according to the data sheet, offers 40 min of autonomy to the device. Of course, this duration was measured at minimum power (out of two) and without an electrobrush connected to the end of the tube. The suction head of the X-Nano, precisely, is not as advanced as that of the Dyson Omni-Glide. It looks like a very classic head and shouldn’t be as mobile as the British model. Note that Rowenta did not see fit to equip it with a ramp of LEDs on the front to make it easier to spot dust on dark floors or under furniture.
To extend its versatility, the Rowenta X-Nano comes with a crevice tool, a flat brush and two brush heads. We will have to wait a few more weeks before being able to offload the sum of 180 € to afford this atypical stick vacuum cleaner which should be released before the end of 2022.
