Royal-News: Queen Elizabeth: surprise for the throne anniversary

Queen Elizabeth: This gift will make her bloom

Queen Elizabeth, 94, will not get out of the beam. The monarch only celebrates her 67th anniversary of the throne on Tuesday (June 2) and at the same time receives a wonderful retrospective gift for her 94th birthday, which she spent in quarantine on April 21 together with Prince Philip, 98, at Windsor Castle. This year, on the occasion of her special day, she will be presented with a form of the "Trooping the Color" military parade – but only a mini version.

The queen canceled the big event at the end of March due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Buckingham Palace said at the time in a statement that "in accordance with the government's recommendations" it was agreed that Trooping the Color would "not be traditional this year."

Now the surprise is perfect! Her Majesty does not have to do without one of her favorite annual events. However, it will only take place on June 13 on a small scale, as a spokesman for the palace told "Hello!" confirms: "On the occasion of the Queen's official birthday, a small, short military ceremony will take place in Windsor Castle."

The ceremonial event should not take place in front of the usual large crowd at the Horse Guards Parade, but in the Queen's second home 43 minutes away.

According to the "Daily Mail" the parade is under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Henry Llewelyn-Usher, who will lead a small contingent of men from the Welsh Guards. The group is accompanied by a reduced number of music groups in the Household Division. Traditionally there should be a royal greeting to the monarch at 11 a.m.

A perfect end to an extraordinary week, because Prince Philip celebrates his 99th birthday on June 10th. It is not yet known whether other members of the royal family will also participate after the easing of the blocking measures in England.
