The starting signal for the sixth edition of the Invictus Games was given in Düsseldorf on September 9th. As promised in advance, initiator Prince Harry (38) is very present at the sporting event for the benefit of war-disabled soldiers. And that’s not all: On Monday (September 11th), the royal attended various disciplines in the stands, such as the 200 meter races, and appeared approachable and empathetic.

For example, he posed with medal winners and spectators alike and always took time to talk to the people around him. Harry thus reinforces the impression he gave during the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games and the subsequent visit to the “Current Sports Studio”: The royal truly cares about the event and it is important to him to highlight the fates of the participants. He will do that until September 16, whether in the presence of his wife, Duchess Meghan (42), is still not certain, contrary to initial reports.

Celebrated in Germany, demonized in his homeland?

While Prince Harry knows how to cast a spell over many people in Germany, more and more people in his British homeland seem to see him as persona non grata. Three quarters of Brits are of the opinion that Prince Harry and his wife should not receive any money from the public purse. The majority would also like it if the second-born son of King Charles III. (74) would be removed from the line of succession. This is one of the results of a new one Survey for the British daily newspaper “Mail Online”.

Only 15 percent of respondents believe the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should be entitled to taxpayer-funded security measures and other costs. A majority of 74 percent also believe that the couple should pay for everything themselves. Harry and Meghan stepped down from their roles as senior royals in 2020 and stressed in advance that they wanted to work towards “financial independence”.
