The Rugby World Cup resumes its rights this Thursday with the return of the French XV to the field, in Lille, against Uruguay. Six days after their inaugural victory against New Zealand, Fabien Galthié’s men took to the pitch at Stade Pierre-Mauroy this Wednesday for a short training session lasting barely an hour.

Business is picking up for the Blues. This Thursday, Fabien Galthié’s men challenge Uruguay at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille, four days after their success against New Zealand (27-13) at the opening of the Rugby World Cup. A meeting to follow live and in full on Europe 1. This Wednesday, the Blues took to the pitch at the northern enclosure for a short training session lasting barely an hour where the starters were able to work on the game launches.

Enough to fully enter this confrontation against the Uruguayans, because the All Blacks are already in the past and the Blues have turned the page, assures Raphaël Ibañez, the general manager of the France team. “That’s the charm of competition. We can’t afford to be contemplative. Everything leads us to quickly look forward to the next match.”

“Be strong on our foundations”

A meeting where the Blues will be ultra-favorites, but there is no question of taking this Uruguay team lightly. Center Arthur Vincent wants seriousness this Thursday evening. “The most important thing for us tomorrow evening will be to come together collectively, to play simply and to be strong on our bases, which we saw again this week.”

The XV of France only has to show its staff that it has learned its lessons correctly before setting foot on the pitch at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille where the Blues have not performed since November 2018 and a victory 28 -13 against Argentina.
