RUMOR on Call of Duty: no new episode in 2023, a first for almost 20 years

Between the takeover by Microsoft and the poor public and critical reception of Call of Duty: Vanguard, we felt we were at a turning point for the franchise. The machine was however already launched for the coming months and a new Modern Warfare as well as a spiritual successor of Warzone have been confirmed for 2022.

Jason Schreier from Bloombergwhich had leaked the announcement of the 2 projects, had also declared that Trearch was working on his own game for 2023. He is now reporting another story: according to his sources, Activision would have decided to postpone the CODE from 2023 to 2024, making next year the first without a new iteration since 2005, a very bad way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise. This would also confirm another article by this same Jason Schreier, who mentioned a few weeks ago that the publisher was thinking about stopping the annual releases.

Trearch would therefore have more time to devote to his next creation and ensure its quality, and should also to help Infinity Ward on the future free-to-play that he is preparing, and which would not be released by the way until 2023. The year would otherwise be marked by significant content updates to keep the community alive on the new Modern Warfare of 2022. Will he also be entitled to 2 years of DLCs ? If the rumor is confirmed, this would in any case open up a boulevard to competitors for the end of 2023, the calendar being much more open. While waiting for official information, Call of Duty: Vanguard is he still available for €59.90 on Amazon.co.uk.
