RUMOR on Everybody’s 1-2 Switch: Nintendo would have a party-game in the boxes, but it would be too bad to release it

With the Wii, players could have fun on Wii Sportsand on Switch… well, we had 1-2 Switches, one party game with mini-games in 1 against 1, but which was paying, sold out. A very average title which nevertheless sold 3.5 million copies, so it is profitable, and nintendo been considering a sequel for a while.

This is what reveals Fanbyteciting several unnamed sources. nintendo would develop Everybody’s 1-2 Switch, one party game playable with 100 players thanks to Joy-Con and especially to an application for smartphones. The idea would be to offer a very different sequel to the first part, to prevent it from stopping selling, and Nintendo EPD Group 4 would have been inspired by the games of Jackbox Games (The Jackbox Party Pack) with a presenter nicknamed Horse, a man with a rubber horse mask. Why this name? Simply because Horse (horse) sounds like Host (presenter). Several mini-games would have been designed, based on musical chairs, the game of the bottle or bingo, requiring players to move around the environment and use their smartphones. And as with every development, internal tests would have been carried out to have first feedback… and they were catastrophic. Several groups of testers would have tried this Everybody’s 1-2 Switchincluding families with children, the core target of nintendoand returns would mention tedious or boring mini-games, some giving up mid-gameand Horse was soon renamed to Horseshit by players quickly tired. The good atmosphere…

Good, Fanbyte reminds that this kind of tests are legion in the middle of the development of video games, the designers review their copy to improve the experience, but in the case ofEverybody’s 1-2 Switchthe result was apparently so bad that some developers sounded the alarm, saying that releasing the game in this state would damage the reputation of the studioyet behind the Nintendo Lab, Ring Fit Adventure, Nintendo Switch Sports, Miitopia or video game studio. However, the Japanese manufacturer would not have panicked and would have launched the production of boxes and jackets: there would be a lot of empty boxes of Everybody’s 1-2 Switch somewhere, waiting for their cartridge.

And now what? Well, the sources diverge. Some explain that nintendo would be confident enough to sell it full pot, citing the success of 1-2 Switches despite very mixed feedback, while other sources indicate thatit could be included as a bonus for subscribers of the Nintendo Switch Online + Additional Pack, logical for a title very oriented towards online multiplayer. “Offering” the game in this way would mitigate against poor feedback due to quality. Nothing is certain at the moment, nintendo could present an improved copy of Everybody’s 1-2 Switch one day or another, or simply abandon the project as if nothing had happened, as sometimes happens.
