RUMOR on Ubisoft: a big event scheduled before E3, a sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising and a new Prince of Persia in the pipeline

Since 2020, some publishers have changed the way they communicate with players about their announcements, including Ubisoft which now organizes pre-recorded online conferences in the format Ubisoft Forward. We do not yet know his plans on this subject for 2022, especially during the period of theE3, but what is certain is that it has many titles in development just waiting to be presented in more detail. At least, all of this was true before the always very knowledgeable Tom Henderson published an article this Monday evening on the site Xfireclaiming that several of his sources having knowledge of the plans of the editor would have reported to him that a big event would have been in production.

The past is in order because of what is happening around the world (the war in Ukraine, again and again), which would have put these plans on hold. The aim would have been to distribute this presentation ahead of theE3 2022 (include more than the usual lectures) so as not to be drowned by the flood of announcements of this period. Whether or not it happens this way, these are 20 games that are apparently ready to be presented to the publicduring this event or not, including unpublished.

Indeed, the journalist prepared a list in which the existence of certain projects is discussed for the very first time. The journalist also included exit periods, to be taken with a grain of salt outside of what has been said in the past, especially during the last financial report. Here to summarize:

As you can read, a sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising (still on sale on Amazon) would be in development, supposedly at Ubisoft Quebecsince the first episode would have satisfied the publisher in terms of performance. The game is said to be in pre-productionwhich for once seems surprising if it were to be presented shortly, probably then only with a cutscene CGI.

In addition to the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, another game of the license would be in development on the side ofUbisoft Montpellier and no doubt other studios, which would take inspiration from the metroidvania Ori (without the corporate culture of Moon Studios if possible…) and would be so made in 2.5D. Ivory Tower would work on his side on The Crew 3which would then possibly follow theYear 5 of the second episode. It did not include the game Star Wars of Massive was not included, as its release would be too far away according to him.

Obviously take this all with a grain of salt, but it’s intriguing while taking stock of what’s in store. Ubisoft for the months and years to come.
