Rumors about the Apple Watch 9: the smartwatch has been told

Apple is expected to introduce new products for 2023 again in September. In addition to the iPhone 15, there will probably also be new Apple Watches. With the introduction of the Apple Watch Ultra, the regular Apple Watch seems to have slipped a bit into the flagship’s shadow.

Compared to its predecessor, the Apple Watch 8 hardly brought any new functions worth mentioning. Can fans expect disappointment this year and new, innovative features coming only for the Apple Watch Ultra 2? According to current rumors, Apple could only do product maintenance for the Apple Watch Series 9.

MacRumors reports that the manufacturer could update the processor of the new model after the CPU of the predecessor was used in the Apple Watch 8. It would also be conceivable that the new Bluetooth 5.3 standard would find its way into smartwatches.

A processor upgrade could extend the battery life. However, it will probably not be able to keep up with the Apple Watch Ultra. Apart from that, no new functions are currently expected. Apple is said to reserve this for its Ultra model.

So for fans of the regular Apple Watch, the upcoming model could be quite a disappointment. It is unclear whether the Apple Watch SE will receive an update this year. In the past, the manufacturer had updated the cheaper smartwatch series irregularly.
