British comedian Russell Brand (48) raves about his “wonderful” ex-wife eleven years after the divorce Katy Perry (38). In the latest edition of the survival series “Bear Grylls: Stars am Limit – The Challenge” he reflected on the marriage to the singer, which lasted only 14 months.

“She is an amazing person”

“Some aspects of it were just amazing,” he said on the show, for example “Daily Mail” reported. Of his famous ex-wife, he said: “She’s an amazing person and it was kind of incredible to live in that eye of the cyclonic aspect of fame for a moment.” The time was “a little chaotic” and he felt “a bit disconnected” at the time. On TikTok he then answered questions from viewers about his first marriage. He stressed that he had “nothing but positive feelings” for Katy Perry. “I’ve really tried in that relationship,” he said.

Katy Perry remembered a ‘tornado’

The couple was married from 2010 to 2012, only 14 months after the wedding in India they separated again in 2011. Last year, the singer had also commented on the turbulent relationship. The mixture of success and love at such a young age was “like a tornado”, she said on the TV show “Australian 60 Minutes”. “I had great success at 23, 24 and 25 and then I met someone who was interesting and stimulating. It was like a tornado, everything happened at once.” The marriage was “always marked by friction, resistance and challenges”.

In the meantime both have found a new happiness in love. She has been with actor Orlando Bloom (46) for years. The two are parents to daughter Daisy Dove, who turns three this month. Russell Brand married author Laura Gallacher (36) in 2017, with whom he is currently expecting their third child. They already have two daughters, Mabel (6) and Peggy (4).
