Ukrainian attacks on Russian-occupied Crimea continue to increase. The air force says its pilots shelled the Saky military airport. The Russian side, on the other hand, is announcing successes with its anti-aircraft defense on the occupied peninsula.
The Ukrainian military said it destroyed a Russian command point at Saky airport on the Crimean peninsula, which was annexed by Moscow, during the night. “Aerodrome Saky: All targets have been shot down,” said Air Force Chief Mykola Oleshchuk. Russia had already reported on Friday that it had repelled a Ukrainian drone attack on Crimea and shot down 36 drones. The peninsula, which was annexed by Russia in 2014, is of central military and logistical importance to the Russian army. It is regularly attacked by Ukraine with missiles or drones.
