Russian missile attack on Kyiv injures people

Dec 13 (Reuters) – At least 12 people were injured and buildings were damaged by missile debris in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said on Wednesday.

Three Reuters witnesses said earlier that powerful explosions were heard around 0100 GMT in the capital. The military authorities in Kyiv then issued air raid alerts.

Vitali Klitschko reported on Telegram that residents of a building were being evacuated and that emergency services were working to put out several fires started by falling missile debris.

A hospital specializing in pediatrics was also damaged, said the mayor of Kyiv. (Reporting Lidia Kelly in Melbourne; French version Camille Raynaud)
