What happened on the ‘Rust’ set when Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot? The FBI is now charging Alec Baldwin: The trigger was pulled.

Did Alec Baldwin (64) make false statements? A leaked FBI forensic report at least suggests so. Accordingly, it is impossible that the bullet from the gun in Baldwin’s hands on the “Rust” set came loose without the trigger being pulled. This is reported by “ABC News”. The actor repeatedly emphasized that he was not actively firing the gun and the shot was released automatically.

In the incident on the set of the western “Rust”, camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (1979-2021) was killed by a .45 caliber revolver. Baldwin stated to the authorities and in numerous interviews that the ball had come off without any action on his part. The US actor is currently being investigated to determine whether Hutchins’ death can be legally attributed to him.

No details known from the FBI report at first

On Friday, the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office announced according to “Los Angeles Times” announced that the FBI had completed its forensic analysis. Initially, no details were released from the paper. Based on this FBI report, the law enforcement authorities in the US state of New Mexico want to continue the investigation and possibly bring charges.

The tragedy, which also injured director Joel Souza, 49, happened in October 2021. Baldwin, who both starred and produced the film, said he was handed the prop gun and believed that this was equipped with blank cartridges.
