Ryan Gosling gives a rare insight into his private life with Eva Mendes and his two daughters in an interview.

In a new interview, Ryan Gosling (41) grants a rare glimpse into his family life with Eva Mendes (47) and the children Esmeralda (7) and Amada (5). “Time is something that I think about a lot now. My children are growing up so quickly that I now have to keep an eye on time in a completely different way than ever before,” said Gosling in an interview with “GQ” magazine. The actor is not sure whether Corona has anything to do with it: “I have the feeling I need more time to process it.”

The kids were tough audiences

During the pandemic, however, he and Mendes spent a lot of time entertaining the children. The lockdown was particularly tough: “Our children were at a difficult age not to interact with other children or people, although Eva and I did our best.” He even suspects that as parents they would have acted more in quarantine than in their films. “But in front of a tougher audience,” Gosling clarifies.

The parents’ job would have led to some funny situations for the children, says Gosling. So it is still difficult for them to differentiate between fiction and reality. For example, when his daughters were making “Going to the Moon,” a film about Neil Armstrong, they pointed to the moon and told others that their father worked up there.

The children’s favorite film comes from Mendes

During the lockdown, however, a film with Eva Mendes would have been the children’s favorite: “‘Always Trouble with Piggy George’ was the hit,” explains Gosling. The 1999 film is about a boy who turns into a pig on a farm. “By the way, I can highly recommend it. Eva is great at it,” enthuses the actor.
