Ryan Reynolds complied with the request of the mother of a boy with cancer and sent him a video greeting, which did not fail to work.

Ryan Reynolds (44, "Deadpool") sends his superhero powers to a boy who needs them. Eleven-year-old Brody Dery is struggling with cancer, so his mother Randi reached out to Reynolds and asked for a video greeting. That Reynolds in 24 hours with a video answer, she hadn't expected that. And even less her son: "His jaw dropped," said the grateful mother to the Canadian broadcaster CTVNews.

"Hold on, buddy"

In the video, Reynolds encourages 11-year-old Brody, "I heard about your story and I wanted to send you this video so you know I am thinking of you and I am sending you tons of love and strength," Reynolds says in the Video. He adds: "I know it has been quite a challenge for you lately, but you are the right man for the job!"

Reynolds, who has three children himself, closes the video in the hope of "meeting Brody in person one day." "Hang in there, buddy!" Brody's mother then said that the video did not miss its effect: "He (Brody, editor's note) says all the time, 'I feel special – I feel like I'm the movie star." The two had watched the video again and again, for their son she felt above all "pride": "He is a good boy."
