Hollywood star joins Formula 1 racing team

After the football club AFC Wraxham, Ryan Reynolds is now buying into a Formula 1 racing team.
Ryan Reynolds (46) buys into Formula 1. With his investment company Maximum Effort Investments, the actor has acquired 24 percent of the shares in the Alpine Racing team. Together with the companies RedBird Capital Partners and Otro Capital, the Canadian puts 200 million euros on the table. This gave Alpine Racing, owned by French carmaker Renault, according to media reports known.
“This collaboration is an important step to improve our performance at all levels,” says Alpine boss Laurent Rossi on record. In the final season of Formula 1, the team finished fourth out of ten in the constructors’ championship.
Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds’ involvement can be seen in the context of a trend. Formula 1 is trying harder and harder to gain a foothold in the USA. Brad Pitt is making a film about the sport, which has long been a fringe sport in the United States.
Ryan Reynolds already invested in football club
For Ryan Reynolds, the deal isn’t his first involvement in the sport. Together with fellow actor Rob McElhenney (46), he bought the Welsh football club AFC Wrexham. McElhenney is also a partner in Maximum Effort Investments with Reynolds and “Creed” star Michael B. Jordan (36).
Reynolds and McElhenney were followed by cameras for the documentary “Welcome to Wrexham” in their efforts to lead the lower-tier club upwards. Ryan Reynolds produced the documentary himself, boosting the value of the club. In April 2023, AFC Wrexham was promoted to the fourth highest English division.
Ryan Reynolds is considered one of the richest actors ever. Most of his estimated $350 million net worth isn’t from films. In 2019 he secured a 25 percent stake in the mobile phone company Mint Mobile. In March 2023, T-Mobile bought the company for $1.35 billion. It is not known what cut Reynolds made.
