S. J. Clarkson: TV director to make new Marvel film for Sony

Sony apparently has another film from the Marvel universe in the pipeline. While major productions such as "Morbius" or "Venom 2" are not due to be released until next year, news about a completely new film could put off fans. According to the industry magazine "Variety", a still secret Marvel strip is planned, which should be a kind of "Spider-Man" spin-off. It is to be directed by television director S. J. Clarkson, who has already sat on the director's chair for parts of the series "Marvel's Jessica Jones" and "Marvel's The Defenders".

Who will be the main character?

According to insiders, the project is said to be the first film from Sony, which is about a main female character from the Marvel cosmos. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but the sources suspect that Madame Web is a secret character. As of now, neither a screenwriter nor a leading actress has been found. According to the report, Sony would probably first look for a Hollywood star and then hire an author to adapt the film to the actress.
