Sacha Baron Cohen: Rudy Giuliani and more – the biggest exciters in "Borat 2"

With "Borat 2" Sacha Baron Cohen delivers another all-round blow against the USA, as not only Rudy Giuliani gets to feel.

How should a film be topped that has exposed the bigotry and the ice-cold racism of large parts of a nation in such a crude, almost unbearable way as "Borat"? Of course, in the "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm" or "Borat 2" for short, which will be available from October 23 on Amazon Prime Video, the rigidity adjustment screw is once again turned on in all matters.

Donald Trump's chain dog and former Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani, felt this like no other. The lawyer for the US president has been driving a smear campaign against the family of challenger Joe Biden for months – and believes he is in the other after a picture published in advance of "Borat 2", which shows him in a highly compromising pose in front of a young woman End of such a smear campaign.

What does "Borate 2" show?

The plot of "Borat 2", if you want to call it that, is quickly summarized. In order to rehabilitate himself in his Kazakh homeland, Borat (Sacha Baron Cohen) is supposed to give a leading politician in the USA a gift – initially in the form of a monkey and, after its inglorious end, in the person of his 15-year-old daughter Tutar, played outstandingly by the Bulgarian and 25 year old actress Maria Bakalova. She has nothing against the plan, on the contrary. Because she has long dreamed of being kept like "Queen Melania" in such a beautiful cage by an old man.

A first attempt to subjugate Vice President Mike Pence alias "Vice-Pussy Grabber" – while Cohen disguised as Donald Trump threw the actress over his shoulders – fails. So Giuliani is lured into a hotel room as Plan B under the pretext of an interview, where he gladly accepts the suggestion of decoy Tutar to move the conversation to the bedroom. Recordings then show how he, leaning backwards on the bed, sticks a hand deep into his open pants before the disguised Cohen bursts in and shouts: "She is 15 years old, she is too old for you!"

Via Twitter, Giuliani already commented on the alleged revelations and dismissed them as "absolute forgery". "I was just about to tuck my shirt into my pants after I took off the recorder," he said. "At no time before, during or after the interview did I behave inappropriately. If Sacha Baron Cohen claims otherwise, then he is an ice cold liar." At the same time, Giuliani is preparing, at least in his eyes, much larger and more scandalous revelations about the Bidens, he writes in another tweet.

Who else gets their fat away in "Borat 2"?

Cohan's goal number one is of course the sometimes more, sometimes less bright supporters of Donald Trump. Most of them have even heard of his fictional character from Kazakhstan, which is why Cohen can only appear as Borat with the really greatest hillbilly of them. But even 14 years after "Borat", he reliably receives the appropriate o-tones from them to questions such as: "What is worse, the corona virus or democrats?" Guess what? Cohen recently revealed that living with these two conspiracy theorists for a full five days was the hardest part of the whole film.

Instead of being Borat, he slips into other disguises for large parts of the film in order not to be recognized. Above all, Maria Bakalova steals the show from him over and over again and, with her performance as a tutar, ensures the sometimes most shocking moments of the film. And that's saying something about Cohen's actions.

Needless to say, but: if you have problems with foreign shame, "Borat 2" will of course become an ordeal again. When he visits the doctor, he asks for an abortion and then naively asks the doctor whether his daughter has "already put a baby in his stomach". In a bakery, he and his film daughter ask that "Jews will not replace us" be written with icing on the cake. And looking at propane tanks, he asks the owner how many "gypsies he can kill off with a canister". The answer: "How many do you have in your van?"
