Safe, this new Decathlon bike helmet was designed by the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale professional team

Versatile by adapting to mountainous terrain, the new Decathlon Van Rysel RCR MIPS road bike helmet adds a touch of safety in the event of a fall, without exploding the price.

For several months, Decathlon has been revamping its Van Rysel range of road bike equipment. New models and colors have proliferated, both on textiles and protective helmets for example. After the FCR and the RCR, it is the turn of the Van Rysel RCR Mips to join the catalog to perfect electric bike and mechanical bike outings.

A Decathlon bike helmet between lightness and safety

The RCR MIPS logically derives from the RCR launched at the beginning of 2024. The two versions are easily differentiated, since the RCR is black and the MIPS is white. The real modification, useful this time, is inside the helmet. The RCR MIPS adds two side and rear reinforcements. These complete the MIPS structure separate from the shell, and which independently limit brain movements in the event of an impact. This safety system supports Decathlon’s internal tests on 50 impact points, compared to 6 for the CE approval standard.

For the rest, the Van Rysel RCR MIPS takes all the advantages of the RCR. This very ventilated road helmet (8 inlets and 7 outlets) is designed for mountain riding and sports outings. It remains no less aerodynamic, as it was developed by the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale professional team. Less tapered than the FCR for the flat, the RCR MIPS remains light and weighs only 280 grams. A weight valid in size M, while the helmet also exists in S and L.

Decathlon offers this new road bike helmet at the price of 90 euros. The Van Rysel RCR MIPS is therefore 20 euros more expensive than the “non-MIPS” and is thus positioned below the FCR (100 euros).
