(AOF) – Safran Electrical & Power concluded on Monday the acquisition of Thales’ aeronautical electrical systems business, which focuses on conversion, power generation and electric motors for civil and military aeronautics. This acquisition follows exclusive negotiations announced in September 2022. This acquisition includes, in France, the companies Thales Avionics Electrical Systems and Thales Avionics Electrical Motors, located on the sites of Chatou (78), Meru (60), and Conflans-Ste Honorine (78).
It also includes support, maintenance and production activities for aeronautical electrical equipment located in Orlando (United States) and Singapore.
Activities in France are integrated into Safran Electrical & Power from this Monday. Those based in the United States and Singapore will be absorbed following a transition period which will make it possible to obtain the necessary certification approvals.
Thales’ aeronautical electrical systems business employs nearly 600 people and achieved a turnover of 145 million euros in 2022.
