Saint-Gobain sells its glass processing business in Estonia


PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Construction materials manufacturer Saint-Gobain announced on Friday that it has signed an agreement to sell its regional glass processing business Baltiklaas OÜ in Estonia to Polar Glass OÜ, a subsidiary of the wood producer glulam Barrus AS.

The amount of the transaction was not specified, Saint-Gobain indicating however that Baltiklaas OÜ employs more than 200 people on two sites, located in Tartu and Mäo, and that the company achieved a turnover of around 25 million euros in 2021.

“This transaction follows several disposals made by the group since 2018 in its glass processing activities in Europe for a turnover sold of around 300 million euros in total”, explained Saint-Gobain in a press release. .

The sale of Baltiklaas OÜ is subject to the approval of the competent competition authority and should be finalized in the coming weeks, the group added.
