DECRYPTION – The French construction materials giant managed to pass through the rise in energy and raw materials in its prices.

Far from hindering it, the energy crisis has proven to be a real growth booster for Saint-Gobain. The costs related to energy and raw materials for the world leader in building materials may have increased by 3 billion euros last year, after a jump of nearly 2 billion in the second half of 2021, the group is posting a double-digit growth on all its main indicators. Its turnover jumped by 13.3%, to 51.2 billion euros, and its operating profit by 18.4%, to 5.3 billion. Its margin thus fell from 10.2% to 10.4%.
