After several years of waiting, the new wave of “hi-fi” intras from Sennheiser is finally here, driven by the IE 300s and a few in-house innovations. And the least we can say is that the result is there…
It’s hard to reinvent the wheel on a type of product as proven as a pair of hi-fi wired intras. And yet, Sennheiser brings some welcome “new things” to the table with its IE 300, placing this model as a paragon of comfort, and simply irreproachable in terms of design. The IE 300s also make a very solid copy in terms of sound performance. This is a successful model, which will delight those who are looking for very good wired intras.
Strong points
- Extremely rich and defined sound reproduction.
- Impeccable distortion management.
- An irreproachable design, both at the level of the headphones and the cable.
- Feeling of comfort and impeccable support.
Weak points
- Slight surplus of energy in the high mids/treble.
- Tiny lack of hold in the bass.
