On paper, the Panasonic Lumix G100 has something to seduce thanks to its advantageous position in the ecosystem of Micro 4/3 hybrids. Rather intended for video content creators, the device unfortunately forgets two essential criteria: sensor stabilization and 4K recording without cropping. It’s a real shame, because apart from these almost prohibitive points, the Lumix G100 is a very good Micro 4/3 hybrid. Compact and pleasant, it is widely customizable in addition to offering a number of small options and a quality viewfinder.

The Panasonic Lumix GX880 is the successor to the Lumix GX800, whose main test results are similar. Few changes have been made by the manufacturer. The device is still just as pleasant to use, thanks in particular to its responsive autofocus and its compactness, even if its performance is a little behind what we can expect in 2020. It is the embodiment of what must be a good entry-level box: easy to use, simple, but not simplistic, respectful of the user by offering real top-of-the-range services (4K video, leading DFD autofocus, etc.), uncompromising on the quality of its components. This proves that it is possible to offer a “beginner” case that is not at a discount and will allow you to evolve slowly towards more ambitious models. Cheer. Next time, dear Panasonic, will you put stabilization on it?
