Sally Kellerman, known from the movie “MASH”, has died. The Oscar-nominated actress was 84 years old.

Sally Kellerman is due Thursday, according to The Hollywood Reporter (February 24) died in Los Angeles at the age of 84. She is said to have had dementia. The Oscar-nominated actress and singer is best known for her role as Army Nurse Major Margaret “Hot Lips” O’Houlihan in Robert Altman’s (1925-2006) cult film “MASH” (1970).

In a career that spanned 60 years, Kellerman appeared in films and television series. She played roles in “Do it again, Dad”, “The Last of the Fiery Lovers”, “Starship Enterprise” or “Shadow of Passion”. Sally Kellerman was also on stage as a cabaret singer, she also released two albums.

Nominated for the Oscar

Her role in “MASH” was Kellerman’s biggest hit and made her famous. It also earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1971 and inspired the title of her 2013 memoir, Read My Lips: Stories of a Hollywood Life.

Kellerman was married twice: to film producer Rick Gem in the early 1970s and to Jonathan D. Krane, also a producer, from 1980 until his death in 2016. She leaves behind a son and a daughter.
