Salma Hayek speaks openly about her weight problems, which she (this time) was not responsible for and about the pressure on women in Hollywood to have to be forever young and slim.

Hollywood beauty Salma Hayek, 54, is world famous for her dream figure and loves to show off her hot curves in tight bikinis on Instagram and elegant designer gowns on the red carpet. But she doesn’t have the courage to do that at the moment, because Salma has problems with the pounds she has left on.

Salma Hayek: “I find it harder to lose weight today than it used to be”

The actress had absolutely no objection to feeding herself a few pounds for her film role in “House of Gucci” during last year’s pandemic lockdown. Salma found it an absolute luxury not to have to pay attention to calories for a while. She devoured whatever her refrigerator produced and enjoyed walking around in loose clothes that comfortably concealed the extra pounds. “I just thought: ‘Okay, bring me a caftan!'” Jokes Salma Hayek in an interview with “InStyle”, speaking honestly for the first time about her fight against the pounds. The problem now is to get rid of the curves. In an interview with Salma: “This time it takes me a long time to get rid of the pounds. You gain weight so quickly, but it takes so long to lose the pounds again.”

“Hollywood expects us women to be slim and young forever”

Hayek’s goal is to lose weight again for her health, but also because, as a Hollywood star, she feels pressured to achieve her dream figure again quickly: “It is expected of an actress in Hollywood,” she says . And the aging process is rated differently by actresses: “When you get older in Hollywood, the expectation is that you don’t age at the same time,” says Salma. But the actress sees it all in the end very relaxed: “I don’t think that I’m still a hot sweeper, but I know that I’m not bad for my age and my lifestyle. I owe it all to meditation.” The star has been practicing meditation regularly since she was 30 years old. The reason for this is pain in the lower back area, which still makes it difficult for Salma to get out of bed on some days. But meditation gives her a lot more: “With breathing and entering into meditation, you explore your body in a different way and you also learn to deal with expectations in a more relaxed manner.”
