Sam Asghari, Britney Spears’ estranged husband, wants to advance his acting career, according to US insiders.
Former fitness trainer Sam Asghari (29) is in the middle of his divorce from pop star Britney Spears (41). But in addition to this rather ugly private matter, the 29-year-old is obviously already busy making plans for the future. As the US celebrity portal “TMZ” reports, Asghari is said to have set himself the goal of further advancing his acting career.
Sam Asghari’s previous acting engagements
In recent years, Asghari, who has been in a relationship with singer Spears since 2016, has appeared in a number of supporting or guest roles in major US productions. He appeared in an episode of the action series Special Ops: Lioness (2023), which is currently streaming on the Paramount+ streaming service.
Asghari has also appeared in three episodes of the third season of the comedy series “Black Monday” (2019-2021) and in the cop thriller “Hot Seat” (2022). In the latter work, which only received a limited theatrical run, he played a police officer alongside Mel Gibson (67) and Shannen Doherty (52) and can also be heard once in the film’s trailer.
After the end of the ongoing double strike by actors and writers in Hollywood, Asghari now wants to land further engagements. Insiders who have not been named have revealed this to the US portal “TMZ”. Asghari could also imagine working as a presenter in television shows.
However, he should not plan to return to his old job as a personal trainer. Asghari met his partner and future wife Spears while working at the Royal Personal Training gym in Los Angeles.
Sam Asghari’s divorce from Britney Spears
About a week and a half ago it became known that Asghari had filed for divorce from wife Britney Spears. US media reported “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. Both spouses have now also publicly commented on the end of their relationship. “After six years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” Asghari said of the split on Instagram.
His wife Spears wrote on the social network: “Six years is a long time to be with someone […]. But I couldn’t take the pain anymore, honestly.”
The couple had been together since 2016. Only 14 months before the separation became known, they had tied the knot of marriage. According to US media reports, the ongoing divorce proceedings could lead to a court dispute over finances. According to the marriage contract, Asghari will receive neither a settlement nor spousal maintenance in the event of a divorce. He is only allowed to keep the gifts that Spears gave her husband.
