Samsung beaten: Xiaomi succeeds in Android 14 coup

XIAOMI 13

Xiaomi beats Samsung! The Chinese manufacturer is the first company after Google to distribute the Android 14 update for its cell phones – also in Germany. These models receive it.

This is a real surprise. Xiaomi is already distributing the Android 14 update in Germany. As can be read in the Android Help forum, the Xiaomi 13 is currently receiving the update. The sister models Xiaomi 13 Pro and 13 Ultra will probably also receive the update at the same time. But we don’t have any confirmation of this yet.

With previous Android updates, it usually took months before Xiaomi rolled them out in this country. Now the distribution takes place almost a week after the release of Android 14 for Google’s Pixel Phones. Last year, Oppo was the first manufacturer after Google to update Android 13 to its phones, but it took the company around a month to do so, which makes Xiaomi’s coup even more impressive.

The Xiaomi 13 is currently receiving the update to Android 14.

Update initially appears without MIUI 15

However, Xiaomi still delivers Android 14 with the MIUI 14 user interface from last year. The new version MIUI 15 will apparently be released at a later date. Which might also explain why the manufacturer managed to deliver the quick update.

Samsung, on the other hand, wants to deliver Android 14 directly with its new One UI 6 user interface and is currently testing the update extensively on several devices. With user interfaces like One UI 6 or MIUI 15, manufacturers are adding exclusive features to their Android phones to stand out from the competition.
