After weeks of scandals around the software restraint of Samsung Galaxy S22
the South Korean manufacturer is finally correcting the situation.

Samsung has rolled out a new update that allows its processor to run at full speed, especially in game.

Soon the end of the performance restraint

The release of the Samsung Galaxy S22 was tainted by a surprising discovery: the SoC Exynos 2200 encountered overheating problems which forced the South Korean manufacturer to curb the performance of its smartphones, except in the applications of benchmarking. Accused of manipulation, the company had to face an outcry from users, but also from Geekbench, which decided to blacklist the company’s phones. Samsung had promised an update to improve performance and it is finally on the way.

Samsung Galaxy S22 users based in South Korea have received a new patch that removes all GPU and CPU limitations, especially during gaming sessions, to run the processor at full speed. This patch also adds an in-game performance management mode in the “Game Booster”, without knowing if it really differs from the other options already present in the application or not. The patch also brings some improvements to photo sensors and security. It remains to be seen when the update will be available for the rest of the world and to wait for the first feedback, which for the moment is encouraging.
