Samsung is raising the bar for innovation in household appliances with its new refrigerator equipped with artificial intelligence. It incorporates advanced visual recognition technology and other intelligent features.

On the occasion of the next CES 2024, Samsung announces a series smart home appliancesincluding the Bespoke 4-Door Flex refrigerator with AI Family Hub+. These connected devices, compatible with Matter Easy Pair via the new IoT connectivity protocol, have in common AI featureslike the company’s recent developments in the field of home automation for the configuration of connected objects from Galaxy smartphones.

In addition to intelligent food management, the refrigerator offers several advanced features. The Fridge Manager which allows you to monitor the status of the water filter and alerts the user when it is time to replace it. Additionally, the screen, powered by Tizen, offers multimedia features like the ability to watch YouTube videos, control smart home devices compatible with SmartThings, play music, mirror a smartphone screen and even watch TikTok!

The Samsung Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with AI Family Hub+ features AI Vision Inside, a feature powered by an internal camera that recognizes up to 33 different types of food. This technology improves food recognition using a large data set nearly a million food photos. Users can edit items stored in the refrigerator via the touchscreen, add expiration dates, and receive notifications when those dates approach.

Thanks to the integration of Samsung FoodSamsung Health and SmartThings, the refrigerator can recommend recipes tailored to users’ dietary and health preferences. We can add our dietary preferences, such as dairy-free, fusion, gluten-free, pescatarian and vegan, using the personalization feature powered by Food AI. For example, plans for tailor-made meal can be created by connecting Samsung Health profiles family members.

In the wake of these innovations, it is hoped that Samsung will also improve its connected household appliances. Such as smart washing machines, which can notify the user when laundry needs to be removed, adapt wash cycles to the user’s needs, and even be controlled by voice commands or other smart assistants.
