Alongside its new generation of touch pads, Samsung could unveil a whole new format. It would be a tablet that can fold, joining not the Galaxy Tab S line, but the Galaxy Z family.

While we are now certain that the summer of 2023 will see the announcement of new Galaxy Tab S9s, the next three tablets may not arrive on their own. In any case, this is what the leaker claims. Tech_Reve. A specialist in leaks of all kinds, whose information is of course subject to caution.

According to him, the Galaxy Z Fold Tab would arrive by the summer, at the same time as the other tablets planned. The Korean catalog would have two ranges, the Tab S and the Z, which would be a first for Samsung. Regarding the format, it could be that the product can fold in three, the two ends of the tablet can be folded over the central part. Everything would therefore consist of two hinges and the stylus could be housed in the middle of the device, right in the space left free by the folded screen parts. Such a format is indeed likely, the Display division of Samsung having demonstrated, at CES as well as at MWC 2023, flexible screens folded in three, nicknamed Flex S and Flex G.

The Galaxy Z Fold Tab should look like a Z Fold, but much bigger.

The question of the size of such a tablet remains open. The largest of the current models, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, measures 14.6 inches, and it is unlikely that a folding model will adopt such a size, any more than that of a Galaxy Tab S +. It is therefore very likely that the Galaxy Z Fold Tab will benefit from a screen size ranging from 11 to 12 inches, with three parts of 4 inches diagonally.

All this obviously remains to be taken with a grain of salt. But the time is indeed right for Samsung to rush into this segment. Its Galaxy Z smartphones are increasingly successful, and the production of a folding tablet would mark a turning point within this technology.
