Samsung fixes bug: Android 12 is now available for these phones

It will continue shortly before the end of the year: Samsung is again delivering OTA updates to Android 12 for the models of the Galaxy S21 series as well as the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. Users of the flagship devices can look forward to One UI 4 with all the benefits.

TL; DR

  • Problems with Google Play are fixed – Samsung is resuming updates to Android 12.
  • The new firmware version for the Galaxy S21 series is G99xBXXS3BULC (global).

On December 22nd, Samsung suspended the delivery of the One UI 4 update for the flagships announced in 2021 due to an incompatibility with the new version of Google Play services. The problem was first discovered in Korea and resulted in the devices becoming unusable.

According to its own information, Samsung has worked with Google on a solution to the problem – and found a solution. The updates to One UI 4 continue worldwide. This means that the stable version of the firmware for the Galaxy S21 series is now G99xBXXS3BULC (global). For the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 models, they are F711xxxS2BUL6 or. F926xxxS1BUL6. The Android security patch level of these builds is December 2021.

Samsung officially released One UI 4 based on Android 12 on November 15th and first distributed it to its flagship devices. The Galaxy S21 series models were the first to receive it; the Galaxy Z-Flip and Z-Fold families soon followed.

We hope that by the end of the year Samsung will have overcome the problems with the operating system update for its flagship smartphones. In addition to Samsung, OnePlus also had the same problem with a faulty OxygenOS 12 update for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. And Google was not spared this time either.
