Samsung is set to unveil its first 77-inch QD-Oled TV at CES in Las Vegas

According to the South Korean media ETNews, Samsung Electronics should take advantage of the Consumer Electronics Show, the famous CES in Las Vegas which takes place this year from January 5 to 8, 2023, to unveil its first 77-inch QD-Oled television (about 196 cm ). This is not really a surprise since Samsung Display – the subsidiary of Samsung dedicated to the manufacture of screens – had unveiled the first 77-inch QD-Oled panel last September. QD-Oled televisions are already available from Sony (A95K) and Samsung (S95B) in 55 and 65 inches.

According to ETNews, the 77-inch diagonal will benefit from an improved version of QD-Oled which will enhance the black level in daylight. Indeed, the anti-reflective filter makes blacks appear slightly gray. Samsung should thus communicate on the term “TrueBlack” for this new generation of QD-Oled panels. The Samsung TV should be Ultra HD 4K, HDR, 120 Hz and HDMI 2.1 compatible, while being powered by the Tizen home system.

This new television unveiled at CES will not be available before April. As is the case every year, the new ranges announced at CES gradually arrive on the shelves from late spring until the end of summer. The price of this 77-inch model is obviously still unknown. For its part, LG offers Oled televisions of 77, 83 and even 97 inches. For information, the LG 77C2 and 83C2 are sold respectively around €3,000 and €5,000, while the LG 97G2 is displayed at €25,000.
