Remember in 2017, Samsung hit big by launching a new range of lifestyle TVs: The Frame. Behind this name hides a simple, but strong concept: The Frame TVs have been designed to blend perfectly into the user’s interior decoration. Once extinguished, they transform into a customizable work of art.

This catchy formula has met with great success among consumers. We obviously expected that the South Korean manufacturer would use this concept on other devices. It is now a done deal, 7 years after the launch of The Frame TVs. On the occasion of CES 2024, Samsung has just presented Music Frame, a connected speaker hidden in a wall frame.

Samsung launches The Music Frame, invisible speakers

You will have understood, we find this idea of making the speaker invisible at first glance. However, there are some differences with TVs. For good reason, no screen here used to display works of art or album covers (which would have been quite fantastic), but a simple customizable photo frame behind which the speaker is hidden. Nothing revolutionary therefore, since we already find similar concepts at Ikea or Sonos.

According to Samsung, users will be able to buy different prints to customize the speaker frame when the product becomes available. No release date has been mentioned yet. This connected and customizable speaker is SmartThing compatible and offers powerful surround sound. Music Frame features Q-Symphony technology to connect to Samsung TVs and soundbars to enhance sound immersion. It fits perfectly into its environment with the possibility of personalizing its frame and the work of art displayed. writes the manufacturer in an official press release.

What about the price? On this point again, you will have to be patient. We are far from the simple Bluetooth speaker. Beyond its innovative design, The Music Frame can also be used to complete a sound installation thanks to compatibility with Q-Symphony. However, the manufacturer’s choice to opt for a simple customizable physical frame instead of a screen will likely reduce the entry price. As a reminder, the proposals from Sonos and IKEA are priced at less than 200 euros.
