The two graphics card giants can in any case count on Samsung to provide them with high-level components. Indeed, the South Korean has just formalized the sampling of the first GDDR6 DRAM which offers speeds of 24 Gbps.
To achieve this, Samsung relied on its so-called third-generation 10-nanometer processor. It uses EUV (extreme ultraviolet) technology and should logically significantly boost memory bandwidth compared to older 18 Gbps chips.
In its press release, Samsung explains that integrated with high-end graphics cards, its 24 Gbps GDDR6 DRAM allows speeds of 1.1 TB / s, ” i.e. 275 Full HD movies in one second “.
