More than a month after officially confirming work on its first connected ring, the Galaxy Ring, the Korean manufacturer Samsung is taking advantage of the Mobile World Congress, which opens its doors this Monday in Barcelona, to provide some additional information about it.

It must be said that, until now, the only elements communicated by Samsung were those that the manufacturer was willing to reveal during the launch of the Galaxy S24. The company had been vague, to say the least, in its statements and the only images offered of the connected ring were a 3D animation. However, for the Mobile World Congress, Samsung exhibited its ring for the first time. The opportunity for all visitors to discover it first-hand and, on this occasion, we were able to see the Galaxy Ring.

A Galaxy Ring launched “later this year”

In a long press release, Samsung discusses in particular the functionalities, characteristics, and the expected date for its Galaxy Ring. Hon Pak, head of the health-related division at the manufacturer, once again indicates that the watch will be primarily focused on monitoring activity, sleep and health data:

We’re excited to launch the Samsung Galaxy Ring later this year, bringing Samsung’s many innovations to a small, comfortable, wearable form factor. As a new addition to our wearable portfolio, Galaxy Ring will offer users new ways to simplify their daily well-being, providing important information and more ways to know themselves, day or night. With the Galaxy Ring, users can embrace a new experience with every step of their wellness journey, while aligning with Samsung’s vision for a more connected, integrated and seamless digital wellness platform.

The main point to remember remains the availability date of the connected ring, which will indeed be launched “later in the year”. The main rumors also point to a more detailed announcement during this summer’s Galaxy Unpacked conference, at the same time as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, with the Galaxy Watch 7. Asked by Frandroida representative of Samsung France also confirmed to us that the ring would be released “in the second semester” without further details on the exact dates for France.

Three colors and nine sizes on the program

In a second press release, this time published on its Korean site, Samsung details more information on the Galaxy Ring. The manufacturer first shares a few photos, but goes a little further by specifying that the connected ring will be offered in three colors – black, gold and silver – and in nine sizes. Enough to allow users to find the shoe that fits them… or the ring on their finger.

On site in Barcelona, the Frandroid editorial staff will be sure to show you the Samsung connected ring in a hands-on manner.
