The Odyssey Neo G7, a 43-inch, flat Quantum Mini-LED monitor offering 2160p resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. Launch expected later this quarter.
Samsung continues to expand its range of Odyssey Neo gaming monitors: the newcomer at the start of 2023 is the 43-inch Odyssey Neo G7. Like the imposing Odyssey Neo G9, the screen benefits from Mini-LED technology. On the other hand, no curvature here, we are dealing with a flat monitor. This Odyssey Neo G7 is the Korean brand’s first flat mini-LED monitor.
43 inches, 2160p and 144 Hz
The matte panel therefore has a diagonal of 43 inches, or 109.22 cm. It displays a maximum definition of 3840 x 2160 pixels and benefits from VESA HDR 600 and HDR 10+ certifications although the typical maximum brightness is 400 cd / m². Regarding the refresh rate and the MPRT response time, the data sheet indicates 144 Hz and 1 ms. In addition, the display supports AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro.
To finish with the characteristics, note that this monitor has a pair of 20 W speakers and that it offers connectivity consisting of a DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 1.4, two USB 3.0 ports. Samsung has also equipped it with an Ethernet LAN port and wireless connectivity, with Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2.
Lots of features including Samsung Gaming Hub
These connectivity options are used in particular for the Samsung Gaming Hub. It’s the brand’s platform for its 2022 range smart TVs and Odyssey monitors. This Gaming Hub provides access to video streaming services (YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, etc.) as well as cloud gaming services, Microsoft Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce Now.
Other features include the Flex Move Screen mode which lets you choose an image size between 20 and 43 inches, as well as its position; the Game Par, to modify certain screen parameters on the fly such as the variable refresh rate (VRR) or the image format.
Samsung specifies that this Odyssey Neo G7 will be available worldwide during the quarter of 2023, but that the launch schedule varies by region. The company has not yet communicated a precise date and price for France.
