While Samsung should unveil next week its new range of connected watches with the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, the Korean manufacturer continues, in parallel, to offer updates for its older models.

As reported by the Sam Mobile site, Samsung has announced the deployment of a new update for its Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 4 Classic, Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro allowing them to take advantage of the One UI 5 interface in beta version 4. All Samsung connected watches under Wear OS can now try out this update, before a stable deployment of One UI 5 expected with the Galaxy Watch 6.

Beta 4 of One UI 5 for connected watches, designated under the version number ZWG7, will allow users to gain slightly in autonomy and fluidity. Samsung also announces that it has corrected bugs relating to the touchscreen bezel of watches without a real mechanical crown. The same is true for some color errors for watch faces. The update is already available for Samsung watch owners enrolled in the One UI 5 Watch beta program. It weighs just over 300 MB.

A beta program that gives access to the stable version

Moreover, Sam-Mobile indicates that, following this beta version update, some users have had access to the stable version of One UI 5. An update that notably brings new features with new dials, new tiles and a vertical interface, this time based on Wear OS 4, announced in the spring by Google.

Other new features include cycling workouts, automatic data backup, more customizable watch faces, a tile for the countdown app, voice dictation of notes, or battery, storage, and RAM display.

For the time being, this update is reserved for users registered in the beta program, even if it is the stable version of One UI Watch 5. Above all, this means that the update seems ready for users and that owners of Samsung watches should be able to download it quickly after the release of the next models from the manufacturer.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic should be presented last week by the Korean manufacturer, during the Galaxy Unpacked conference on July 26, at the same time as its new Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Tab 9.
