Samsung will announce the Exynos 2200 at the same time as the Galaxy S22

Samsung’s next Exynos SoC will arrive a little later than expected. According to a spokesperson for the South Korean firm, the Exynos 2200 does not suffer from any problem and will simply be unveiled at the same time as the Galaxy S22.

While everyone was expecting a presentation on January 11, as Samsung itself announced a few days ago, the South Korean manufacturer remained on the fateful date. Faced with this disappointment, new technology enthusiasts did not fail to react, assuming that the company was encountering supply problems or, worse, that the processor did not meet the expected standards. A Samsung lay, however, ended up speaking out in the Business Korea to explain this program change.

The new Exynos will arrive with the Galaxy S22

Samsung wants to be reassuring, despite its messy communication: “We will reveal the new SoC during the presentation of the new Samsung smartphones. There is no problem with the production or the performance of the processor.” As it raises GSM Arena, it is true that the Exynos 2100, which equips the Galaxy S21, had been unveiled only two days before the presentation of the flagships of the beginning of 2021. It therefore seems consistent that the South Korean firm is following almost the same calendar.

Samsung and AMD partners for the Exynos 2022.

The Exynos 2200 will be the first processor to use AMD’s RDNA2 architecture and will therefore be the first SoC to be able to offer ray tracing on mobile. If all this leaves you dreaming, it will however be necessary to wait a little before seeing the first games from the Google Play Store offer this type of rendering, equivalent to what can be found on PC or on the latest generation consoles. However, with AMD in charge of the graphics part, it’s a safe bet that the setbacks encountered by ARM’s Mali-G78 MP14 GPU will not be back this year. Excellent performance is to be expected in the video game field, as well as much better controlled heating.

If everything goes as agreed, Samsung should present its new Exynos as well as its other flagships on February 8. The date is, for the time being, not official, but it is the most plausible rumor.
