At CES 2023 in Las Vegas, Samsung unveiled its two new QD-Oled models for this year. The Samsung S95C sports an ultra-thin design by deporting the connectors and electronics in an external Slim On Connect Box – already used by the Samsung QE65QN95B that we tested -, while the Samsung S90C will take up the design of the current S95B (also tested).
The novelty is also the arrival of a new diagonal of 77 inches on these two models. Samsung already lists the QE77S95C on its US site for $4,499, which is probably around €4,500 to €5,000 in France with taxes.
By way of comparison, the LG Oled 77G2 television with its Oled EX panel and its cooling system, allowing a peak in brightness equivalent to that of QD-Oled models, is sold for around €3,500, or almost €1,000 less. That said, this model will soon be replaced by the LG G3 equipped with the new Oled Meta panel with microlenses. It was launched at €4,000 in May 2022. Less expensive and a little less bright, but no less efficient, the LG 77C2 is marketed at around €3,000.
LG should announce the prices of its new Oled B3, C3, G3 and Z3 (8K) models in March. Sony should do the same with its new range of Oled televisions, which could include a 77-inch QD-Oled model.
